While the entire musical lineup isn’t set yet we can announce that the legendary singer/songwriterBilly Joe Shaver will be this year’s headline performer on the Dr Pepper Stage.
As a living lightning rod for the blues, Billy Joe Shaver is one rough 'n' rowdy Texan who's experienced more than enough joy and pain in his life to ever have to go begging for material.
A staunch individualist known for shooting from the hip, Shaver has always been a songwriters' songwriter--he’s been recorded by Waylon Jennings, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Kris Kistofferson, the Allman Brothers and more. He was selected by the Texas Commision on the Arts as the State Musical Artist of 2006. In addition to performing he will be joining fellow Texas artists in being honored at the Dublin Dr Pepper Birthday Celebration.
Billy Joe Shaver’s newest album is titled “The Real Deal” and his songs are the real-est of real deals.
